So the wicked hate the Light and try to hide from it, for their lives are fully exposed in the Light. But those who love the truth will come out into the Light and welcome its exposure, for the Light will reveal that their fruitful works were produced by God.” John 3: 20-21 TPT
When you become a “Christian” you embrace the Light and Mercy of God. You choose to hand over the rights to yourself. If you believe Jesus was God clothed in human flesh, which He was, then you will also be required to not only believe His words—but to obey them.
It is not easy to follow Jesus because He hands out tough assignments like: sell everything you have and give it to the poor and wash the feet of your enemy.
(I’ve done that but it was HARD!)
He also says, “Love your enemy.”
(That’s harder still!)
If hypocrisy in the Church was a valid excuse for ignoring Jesus?
I could stand at both ends of the hypocrisy line.
I’ve been a prodigal. I have walked away from the Church because I have seen the unbelievable cruelty of people who called themselves “Good Christians.” I have experienced pastors I loved and trusted—betray that trust.
And, it’s ALL, completely beside the point.
Is it then exclusively about what we believe?
Let me give you an illustration and then ask you a question.
Let’s say I adamantly choose to disbelieve the claims of GRAVITY.
So, I find a sixty-story building, and I decide to take the stairs.
Being a “passionate” disbeliever, with every step I climb I proclaim to myself and anyone around me, “I don’t believe in gravity!”
I climb higher, and higher, until I finally reach the top.
I walk to the edge of the building, and with a one final passionate cry I shout out to the world, “I don’t believe in gravity!”
Then, I step off the edge.
Now what matters most—what I BELIEVE, or what is TRUE?
He (Jesus) entered into the very world he created, yet the world was unaware. He came to the very people he created—to those who should have recognized him, but they did not receive him. But those who embraced him and took hold of his name were given authority to become the children of God!
John 1: 10-12 TPT
The Gospel is true…
Whether you believe it—or not.
Every day you choose, either to follow Jesus, or you continue living your life by ignoring Him.
Those who have chosen to put their lives into the hands of Jesus have eternal life with Him waiting up ahead. When they arrive at death’s door they have the only key that will open all of heaven to them.
He is their passport to eternal life.
They have crossed their finish line—and won!
And one day…
You will arrive at death’s door and you will walk thru it.
You have no choice.
On the other side of that door you will begin your life in eternity.
Only one thing will matter then—what you chose before you died.
The only issue then will be,
“Did you choose Jesus and what is true? Or, were you like that fool who shouted out to the world, “I don’t believe in gravity!” as gravity pulled him to his death?”
Jesus came so that you might have and enjoy eternal life!
For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. “God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it! So now there is no longer any condemnation for those who believe in him, but the unbeliever already lives under condemnation because they do not believe in the name of God’s beloved Son. And here is the basis for their judgment: The Light of God has now come into the world, but the hearts of people love their darkness more than the Light, because they want the darkness to conceal their evil. So the wicked hate the Light and try to hide from it, for their lives are fully exposed in the Light. But those who love the truth will come out into the Light and welcome its exposure, for the Light will reveal that their fruitful works were produced by God.” John 3: 16-21 TPT
The CHOICE is yours alone.
It’s a “limited time” offer, because problem is, no one knows for sure when their time is up!
For God says, “Your cry came to me at a favorable time, when the doors of welcome were wide open. I helped you on a day when salvation was being offered.”
Right now God is ready to welcome you. Today he is ready to save you.
2 Corinthians 6: 2 TLB
He died to give you everything.
What will you decide about this Jesus?
