What Is Truth? (From The Father’s Heart, by Charles Slagle – excerpt)

Beloved Adventurer! What is truth? Truth is timeless, everlasting fact. Truth is the word We use to describe the way reality is, was, and forever is bound to be. Two plus two equals four, blue mixed with yellow is green, and water will forever consist of two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. There never was a time or place where two plus two equaled nine, or blue and yellow made purple, or water was oil.

No, truth transcends the trends of men in the same way a real person transcends a cartoon caricature. Truth just is! And why? Because I AM! Solid—irreversible—universal Fact; I AM what I AM—and not even I can change that fact. There never was a time when I was called into existence, and neither is it possible that I should ever cease to exist. I cannot deny Myself, for I AM the Solid Rock. And you should be glad, questioning one.

When I tell you one path leads to life and another leads to death, do you not realize I AM merely showing you how reality happens to work? Child, I show you because I love you. I love you enough to care. Not only do I love you with My affections, I also love you with My ambitions, My aspirations. You might say I have “champagne taste” where your interests are concerned. I do want the very best for you and, I will admit, My dreams for you are far higher than your young mind can even faintly grasp at the moment. Honestly! Dad

Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:5-6 KJV
